Given the information that is going viral and the buzz around the prequel movie, the filmmakers Hombale Films and Rishab Shetty are planning to release the movie in the early summer of 2025. Most likely, Kantara: Chapter 1 will hit the screens in May next year. It is worth mentioning that Kantara was also released in May of 2022.

Bankrolled by Vijay Kiragandur of the Hombale Films banner, the prequel movie will feature Rishab Shetty and a set of other new actors along with the Kantara actors reprising their roles. Arvind S. Kashyap is cranking the camera while B. Ajaneesh Loknath is composing the music and score. The editing of the Kantara prequel will be taken care of by K.M. Prakash and Pratheek Shetty.
