Creators of the Cyberpunk tabletop RPG, R. Talsorian Games, announced a new story set after the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime series. This story will be part of the upcoming Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Mission Kit, which adds new stories and rules to the latest Cyberpunk RED tabletop game.
This project was developed with the help of CD Projekt Red, the creators of the Cyberpunk 2077 video game. The Mission Kit will feature new lore and backgrounds for characters from the anime like David, Lucy, and Rebecca. It also includes a full-length mission called “The Jacket,” which continues the story after the anime ends.

In their preview, R. Talsorian explained that players won’t be playing as characters from the anime directly. Instead, the adventure takes place after the anime’s ending and before the events of the Cyberpunk 2077 video game. While players will meet new characters, some familiar faces, like the team’s driver Falco, will also appear.
Availability and Price
The Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Mission Kit costs $35 and can be bought in both physical and digital formats from the R. Talsorian Games store and their partner, DriveThruRPG. This kit serves both as an introduction to Cyberpunk RED and a glimpse into the Cyberpunk 2077 era, placing players right into the aftermath of the anime’s finale. Players will encounter characters from both Cyberpunk Edgerunners and Cyberpunk 2077.

The Mission Kit includes new lore created by Cyberpunk’s creator Mike Pondsmith, a rule book, and art by the anime’s director Hiroyuki Imaishi. Some of this artwork can be viewed below.
Note on Sequels
For fans of the anime, this Mission Kit is likely the closest thing to a sequel, as Studio Trigger, the animation studio behind Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, typically does not make sequels. This was confirmed by co-founder Hiroyuki Imaishi in a 2023 interview.
